Real Estate Rent Increase Rates in Istanbul

Real estate platform Hepsielak analyzed the price change of rental houses within a year, according to the February 2022 Real Estate Index, which was created from country-wide data. According to the data announced by Hepsiemlak; The province with the highest increase in rental housing prices in the last 1 year was Istanbul with an increase of 149 percent.
According to the March 2022 report by Bahçeşehir University Economic and Social Research Center (BETAM), the annual rent increase rate in Istanbul was 112.3 percent.
The ratio of the number of rented houses, which we use as an indicator of vitality in the rental housing market, to the total number of rental advertisements increased in Istanbul compared to the previous month. It is seen that this increase is due to the increase in the demand for housing for sale.
After the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the inflation figures, the rent increase rate for January 2022 was also announced. In December 2021, there was an increase of 13.58 percent compared to the previous month, 36.08 percent compared to December of the previous year, 36.08 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 19.60 percent according to the twelve-month averages. Accordingly, starting from January 2022, rent prices will be increased by a maximum of 19.60 percent.
